Like A Girl: Dare To Dream presents
Karen Lucht
NASA Manager & Make-A-Wish South Carolina Development Officer
After more than two decades with America’s space program, Karen Lucht is now the Regional Development Officer at Make-A-Wish South Carolina. Her path to NASA began when she applied for the Outstanding Scholar Program and landed a job as a business analyst in the Space Shuttle Program at Johnson Space Center in Texas.
Her career with NASA took her from Johnson Space Center to NASA White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico to Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where she was the business manager for the Space Shuttle Transition Office and the manager of the Commercial Crew Program Integration Office for two years. In 2012, she served a one-year professional development assignment in the Cost Analysis Division at NASA headquarters, where she advised agency planning on commercial spaceflight development.
After 21 years of service to NASA, Karen felt the calling to give back on a more personal level. She joined the staff of Make-A-Wish South Carolina in 2018, where she continues to make a difference in the lives of critically ill children by helping grant their life-changing wishes.
