Like A Girl: Dare To Dream presents
Heather Collins, M.D.
Dr. Heather Collins is a cognitive neuroscientist and keynote speaker with expertise in how the brain remembers, learns, and thinks about information. She shows business professionals how to become power thinkers, create successful change, and effectively lead teams through brain science. She has given three popular TEDx talks: Brave, Bold, and Brilliant through Brain Science; Remember this Moment: Use Memory to Build Confidence; and Successful Thinking: It's a Know-Brainer.
She has authored more than 40 scientific publications in prestigious academic journals, such as the New England Journal of Medicine, as well as popular press articles on applying cognitive neuroscience research to professional and academic settings.
Dr. Collins' fascination with how our brains interact with our environment and how individual differences in memory and the brain can occur led her to earn a Ph.D. in Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She moved to the East Coast to pursue postdoctoral research fellowships in brain imaging using MRI technologies. As a professor, chair of an academic department, biostatistician, speaker, and entrepreneur, her breadth and depth of experience have driven her to translate research findings about the human mind, brain, and behavior into inspired action. Her current collaborative research projects involve identifying structural brain changes and biomarkers of Alzheimer's Disease, testing artificial intelligence COVID-19 diagnostic algorithms, and identifying brain changes in NASA astronauts resulting from spaceflight.
